installation made for a ‘theme’ exhibition in Quartair, The Hague.
Curators: V. Jeanson and P. van Assche.
Eight artists from The Hague were invited to give their interpretation of 750 meters The Hague.
The idea.
The Hague is a city build beneath sea level.
The sea is kept in control.
Streets form the first labyrinth. The canals form the second labyrinth.
The second labyrinth is separated by the watersurface . Above the waterlevel and beneath.
So are seperated too the public and privat life, visibility and invisibility, inner and outer world.
The city is stored inside our head in fragments of memories. Cables keep us in the present, boats made of silverpaper travelling between wishes (from ever) and reality (now.)
